Trademark

AEGIS™ and “Capability without constraint is not intelligence”™ are unregistered trademarks of Finnoybu IP LLC, claimed under common law.

The ™ symbol indicates an unregistered trademark. These marks identify the AEGIS governance architecture and its related specifications, documentation, and publications.

Permitted uses

Section titled “Permitted uses”

The following uses are permitted without explicit permission:

  • Referencing AEGIS™ in technical documentation, academic papers, research materials, and educational content
  • News articles and blog posts discussing the AEGIS™ project
  • Implementation documentation for AEGIS-compatible systems
  • Stating compatibility: “Compatible with AEGIS™ specifications”

Uses requiring permission

Section titled “Uses requiring permission”

The following require explicit written permission from Finnoybu IP LLC:

  • Creating derivative product names containing “AEGIS”
  • Branding commercial products or services as AEGIS variants
  • Implying official endorsement or affiliation with the AEGIS Initiative
  • Using the marks in domain names, company names, or service offerings
